Because I cannot tell you how many times someone has grabbed my hand at a dinner party, looked down at my palm and gone quiet, worried, almost afraid to say what they were thinking. “Does a short line mean… you know… a short life?”Bless them. Every single time.

So let’s clear this one up properly, gently and once and for all, because this myth has caused far more worry than it has ever offered wisdom. The Short Answer - No.

Your life line does not predict when you will die. It never has and it never will. I know that might feel like a relief to read, so take a breath and let it land.

Where This Myth Even Came From

Palmistry is an old, old practice. Thousands of years old, in fact, stretching back to ancient India and travelling all the way through China, Egypt and Greece before landing in the hands of curious souls like you and me today.
